Proof of ownership of the vehicle in the form of a copy of the vehicle's Georgia registration or renewal notice (current or from last year), or the vehicle's Georgia title. Any of these documents are acceptable as long as the vehicle identification number (VIN) number is included.
Proof the vehicle owner or driver is out of the area in the form of a current student transcript, student registration, tuition bill, or completed Student Verification Form.

Out of Area Time Extension Application

In accordance with Georgia Rule 391-3-20-.16, Owners of vehicles which are temporarily stationed in a location well outside the covered counties or be easily brought to the covered counties for inspection may request an extension of time to comply. Each request for an extension shall include current proof that the vehicle and owner are stationed outside the covered counties due to school, business, or military. Extensions are valid for one inspection term.

As the primary owner or representative (Proxy) of the vehicle described herein, I am applying for an Out of Area Time Extension. By my signature below, accompanied by a photocopy of a valid government-issued identification card, I certify and/or affirm that the information provided in this application is true; furthermore, per Code Section 16-10-71, I understand that upon conviction of false swearing; by submitting false or fraudulent statements or writings in a matter under jurisdiction of a state agency is a crime and may result in fines, imprisonment, or both.
